McMillan and Bulkeley looking to repeat success at Europeans

Practice racing at Tornado Europeans
Tornado European Championship - GBR Team - McMillan and Bulkeley looking to repeat success at Europeans
SARDINIA, ITALY-(8-6-2003)  RYA Team GBR are getting ready to participate at the Tornado European Championships sailing from the Yacht Club Cagliari in Sardinia.

Ones to watch at the event will be Leigh McMillan and Mark Bulkeley who have just had their greatest success at SPA Olympic classes regatta last month where they won the event. All of the top Tornado sailors were present at the event including world bronze medallists Mitch Booth and Herbert Dercksen of Holland, world silver medallists and European champions Olivier Backes and Laurent Voiron of France and world champions Darren Bundock and John Forbes from Australia.

It will be good test for McMillan and Bulkeley to see if they can hold off the advances from these top sailors at the Europeans as well as team mates Hugh Styles and Adam May.

RYA Olympic Manager Stephen Park commented, `As all the worlds top sailors are in attendance at this open Europeans it would be a brave man who would bet on the outcome of this increasingly competitive class. Leigh McMillan and Mark Bulkeley attend having just won Spa regatta and will hope to continue their success, but I certainly will not be surprised to see Hugh Styles and Adam May challenging for the medals by the end of the week.`

Racing commences on Monday 9 June through to Saturday 14 June with two races scheduled per day. Daily results can be found at . Results will be put out as a daily media advisory, with a final event report issued on the last day.
